Booking terms

Last updated November 2026. These terms apply to every Chef Alex Tours trip. When you pay a deposit, you agree to them.

Booking and payment

  • A $1,500 deposit holds your spot. The deposit is non-refundable.
  • The balance is due 120 days before the trip starts. If we don't receive it by then, we may release your spot to the waitlist and keep the deposit.
  • If you book within 120 days of the trip, the full price is due at booking.
  • Prices are per person and include what's listed on each trip page under "What's included".

Minimum group size

Each trip needs at least 5 riders to run. We confirm every trip by its "trip confirmed by" date on the trip page. If a trip doesn't run, we refund everything you've paid us in full, including your deposit. Please don't book flights before the trip is confirmed. We can't cover flights or other costs you've booked yourself.

If you cancel

  • The deposit is non-refundable.
  • If you cancel more than 120 days before the trip, we refund anything you've paid beyond the deposit.
  • If you cancel 120 days or less before the trip, payments are non-refundable. If we fill your spot from the waitlist, we'll refund what you paid beyond the deposit.
  • You can transfer your spot to a friend before the trip, as long as they agree to these terms.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is required. Choose a policy that covers cycling, medical care and evacuation abroad, and trip cancellation.

Changes to the trip

We reserve the right to change or update the route, stays, restaurants and daily plans for weather, road conditions, availability or safety. If something changes, we'll replace it with something of similar quality and let you know as early as we can. In the rare case that we have to cancel a trip after it's confirmed, we'll refund what you've paid us.

Riding safely

  • You're responsible for being fit enough for the trip you choose. Each trip page explains how hard it is.
  • A helmet is required on every ride. Follow local traffic laws and the ride leader's instructions.
  • Cycling has real risks. Before the trip, every rider signs a waiver and release.
  • We may ask a rider to take the van for part of a day, or to leave the trip, if their riding or behavior puts themselves or the group at risk.

Bikes

Bring your own bike, or rent one from us as an add-on. You're responsible for rental bikes during the trip and for damage beyond normal wear.

Filming and photos

Our trips are filmed and photographed for YouTube, Instagram and our emails. By joining, you agree that you may appear in them. If you'd rather not be filmed, tell us and we'll keep you out of the shot.
